Job Description
A business advisory firm is seeking a Business Adviser to assist Client Advisers (CAs) and Lead Advisers (Leads) to care for a group of clients’ accounting and financial needs by providing exceptional service including compliance and business advice, whilst contributing to the firm being an efficient and profitable business, with a culture where staff, clients and guests always feel welcome and respected.
Key Responsibilities
- Client and Compliance Support: Assist with managing clients' compliance needs, including handling activity statements with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), reviewing financial statements and tax returns, and providing general accounting and tax advice.
- Team Leadership and Mentorship: Manage and mentor accountants, ensuring work is peer-reviewed, professionally presented, and meets all firm standards, while maintaining high productivity and adherence to deadlines.
- Process and Workflow Management: Efficiently manage information flow between clients and the firm, maintain accurate records and workpapers, submit timely timesheets, and track progress through weekly workflow reports.
- Continuous Learning and Professional Development: Stay up to date with relevant tax legislation, industry software, and participate in internal and external training to meet CPD requirements and enhance skills.
- Contributions to Firm Improvement: Actively contribute to enhancing firm processes, client experience, and service offerings, while fostering a positive, efficient, and collaborative team environment.
- Minimum of 5 years accounting experience as a CA or CPA within Australia public practice
- Tertiary qualification in Accounting
- Chartered Accountant or Certified Practicing Accountant
- Experience in the preparation of Financial Statements and Tax Returns
- Sound knowledge of taxation legislation
- Sound knowledge of cloud based accounting and finance products
- Excellent use and knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs
- Demonstrates initiative, anticipates client needs, adapts to change quickly, and proactively seeks improvements for both personal growth and firm success.
- Builds strong client relationships, fosters trust, and works effectively as a team player to deliver high-quality results and meet deadlines.
- Exercises sound commercial judgment, mitigates risks, communicates clearly, maintains confidentiality, and upholds the highest standards of ethics and professionalism.
