Join a well-known and reputable mechanical services contractor with a strong pipeline of commercial projects across Sydney.

Based in Rydalmere, this is an excellent opportunity for a Junior HVAC Estimator to join a supportive estimating team of three. You will report directly to an experienced Estimating Manager who has more than 10 years of industry experience and will provide ongoing guidance and development.

The Role

• Prepare accurate estimates and tender submissions for commercial HVAC projects.
• Work across a range of commercial developments, with a strong focus on apartment projects.
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Complete equipment take-offs, labour calculations and material pricing.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare estimating spreadsheets, cost breakdowns and tender documentation.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, clarifications and potential value-engineering opportunities.
• Work closely with the Estimating Manager and broader project delivery team.
• Assist with tender handovers once projects are successfully secured.
• Work from the company’s Rydalmere office in a collaborative team environment.

About You

• Approximately 2–3 years of HVAC or mechanical services estimating experience- I would look at less dependant on the candidate. 
• Previous exposure to commercial construction or apartment projects.
• Confident reading mechanical drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience completing take-offs and preparing estimates using Excel or estimating spreadsheets.
• Good understanding of HVAC equipment, ductwork, pipework and mechanical services installations.
• Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Organised and capable of managing multiple tenders and deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and the confidence to liaise with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Motivated to develop your estimating career with an established and supportive contractor.
• Comfortable working full-time from the Rydalmere office.
