Job Description

Lawyer, Dispute Resolution & Litigation (Construction & Strata Focus)
Parramatta | Permanent, Full-Time

About the firm

Our client is a leading midsized Western Sydney firm with nearly a century of heritage and offices across Parramatta, Norwest, Penrith, Sydney CBD and Campbelltown-Macarthur. Their Litigation & Dispute Resolution team holds a strong reputation across commercial litigation, debt recovery, insolvency, contractual disputes and alternative dispute resolution, supported by two Accredited Specialists.

The construction and strata offering is a standout growth area, covering residential and commercial building defects, Security of Payment Act claims, and the NSW strata reforms taking effect from 1 April 2026. This is a genuine opportunity to build a niche in one of the most active areas of NSW dispute work.

The role
You will run a varied commercial litigation caseload with a weighting toward construction and strata disputes. Matters include:
  • Building and construction disputes across residential, commercial and developer-side projects
  • Security of Payment Act 1999 (NSW) claims, adjudications and enforcement
  • Strata scheme disputes, including defect claims under the new 2026 reform framework
  • Contractual disputes, debt recovery, misleading and deceptive conduct, and insolvency-related litigation
  • Mediation, arbitration and court representation across Local, District, Supreme and Federal jurisdictions
You will work directly with principals and senior practitioners on file strategy, run your own matters from instruction to resolution, and have genuine client contact from day one.

What you bring
  • 1 to 5 years PAE in dispute resolution or commercial litigation
  • Exposure to construction, strata, or building disputes (highly regarded, not essential)
  • Strong drafting skills across pleadings, advices and correspondence
  • Confidence in NCAT, Local and District Court processes
  • A commercial mindset and the ability to translate legal risk into practical client outcomes
  • NSW practising certificate
What the firm offers
  • Quality work with real autonomy in a supportive team
  • Structured learning and development for all fee earners
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • Clear progression pathways in a stable, established firm
  • Parramatta-based role, walking distance to train, bus and light rail
